William Crews was employed as the public affairs specialist for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. But he has been writing as whistle blower online under the "streiff" username. That is. he was employed by the NIH until he was discovered leaking information.

Crews criticized the NIH management as part of a left wing anti Trump conspiracy and gone so far as to criticize Anthony Fauci (who heads the agency) as the “attention-grubbing and media-whoring Anthony Fauci.”
Of the SARS COVID-10 Pandemic, Crews leaked out online the point of the governments COVid-19 response as “I think we’re at the point where it is safe to say that the entire Wuhan virus scare was nothing more or less than a massive fraud perpetrated upon the American people by "experts" who were determined to fundamentally change the way the country lives and is organized and governed.”
And on the face mask issue, "Wearing masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus is “a political statement” akin to “wearing the red ribbon when AIDS was a huge deal."
